Our on-site coaching cycles provide long-term, embedded professional learning designed to transform math instruction over time. Julie and Shannon work alongside your teachers and students over the course of several weeks, modeling lessons, co-teaching, and offering real-time feedback and support. These cycles build teacher confidence, deepen content understanding, and foster sustainable instructional growth tailored to your school’s goals.

Virtual Learning & Coaching
Our virtual coaching cycles offer content-based support that strengthens math instruction through focused, flexible professional learning. Teachers receive targeted guidance and practical strategies they can apply right away—all without leaving their classrooms. We also offer a library of on-demand webinars designed to add value to mathematics instruction, providing easy access to research-based practices whenever it’s most convenient.

At Two Chicks, our mission is to empower educators and school leaders with the knowledge, tools, and strategies they need to cultivate student achievement and growth in mathematics. By building sustainable systems and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, we strive to create learning environments where every student believes they are a mathematician and can excel in mathematics.
Vision:
We are dedicated to fostering excellence in education for all students. Our approach centers on modeling the 8 effective mathematical teaching practices while celebrating strengths, addressing areas of growth, and uplifting teacher expertise. Through collaborative co-planning, targeted professional learning, and close partnerships with leadership teams, we aim to enhance mathematics instruction.

Shannon Stone, Ph.D.
Shannon has over 20 years experience serving in various capacities in elementary education, including teacher and coach. In 2015, she earned her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in elementary math. She is certified through the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL), the Kentucky Reading Project, and Carnegie Improvement Science. In addition, she was a participant in Mike Rutherford’s Leadership academy. Shannon is Level I Google Certified and proficient in many digital tools. In 2019, she joined the Educational Recovery team to support schools in Kentucky's bottom 5%. She has worked in several schools to help leaders develop systems and processes that promote student academic achievement and growth. In the summer of 2022 she began her journey as an Educational Consultant. Outside of teaching and learning, Shannon loves road trips. She and her husband have a small travel trailer and camp as frequently as possible.
Julie Carwile, NBCT
Julie has over 22 years experience in the elementary school setting as a teacher and a Curriculum Facilitator. Julie holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Instruction and Curriculum. She earned a Rank I with National Board Certification in Literacy. She also has an endorsement in Gifted & Talented Education and holds certification through the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL), Principal Administration and Carnegie Improvement Science. She has served as an Educational Recovery Specialist for the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Continuous Improvement for six years. She continues to be a lifelong learner by establishing a partnership as an Educational Consultant. In Julie's free time she enjoys reading, traveling and visiting the beach with her husband, children and five wonderful grandchildren.
